Global
Warming in the World
Global warming is a current issue that is facing the
world. The effects of global warming are felt by almost all countries of the
globe. Global warming refers to the recent increase in the temperature in the
world which is believed to be caused by certain gasses increase like carbon
dioxide found in the atmosphere. Global warming is the increase in the ocean
and atmosphere temperatures over a period due to the greenhouse effect caused
by pollution. Global warming is a common threat to the climate and human life.
The paper discusses the concept of global warming. It goes ahead to explain the
nature of global warming. There is also the explanation of various causes and
effects of global warming. The paper ends with the conclusion of the discussion
of the prevention measures of global warming are explained.
Causes of
Global Warming
Human activities and nature are the main causes of
global warming. The primary human contributions to global warming are gasses
emitted from greenhouses and activities which emit carbon and the sulfur
dioxide emissions. Greenhouse gasses are gasses that hold and trap heat in the
atmosphere. These gasses are capable of absorbing infrared radiation and emit
back thermal radiation. Deforestation which is the cutting of trees contributes
to global warming. Burning those trees also leads to the emission of carbon
gasses which increase atmospheric temperature leading to global warming.
Therefore, emissions mostly come from the human activities such as burning of
coal and oil burning. The leading natural cause of global warming is the
volcanic activities. Human beings activities are the most contributors to
global warming. The primary causes of global warming are the human activities.
Effects of
Global Warming
Global warming has various implications in the
atmosphere and the ocean. Global warming causes the heating up of the earth.
The sea levels are rising due to global warming. The ice caps are melting due
to increased temperatures. There is climate change which is believed to be
caused by global warming. All these effects are tremendous.
Ways of
Mitigating Global Warming
Causes of global warming are identified to enable
mitigating it. Global warming can be reduced by regulating the human activities
which are the leading cause. Global warming can be reduced by reducing the use
of energy. Use of alternative sources of energy can reduce energy consumption
thus reducing global warming. Solar energy is the example of an alternative
source of energy which is used to reduce the use of non-renewable sources of
energy such as fuels. Energy consumption
from the burning of fossil fuels should be reduced. Materials which cause
pollution should be disposed of the right way to reduce air pollution which is
also the cause of global warming. Another way to curb global warming issue is
by reducing emissions into the air. Emissions can be reduced by reducing
transport activities for example by encouraging people to travel by public
means of transport. Finally, stopping deforestation can also reduce global
warming. Cutting trees and burning them for fuel like charcoal should be
discouraged. (Archer, D. 2012).
In conclusion, global warming has a great impact on
the environmental climate. Global warming is the abnormal increase in
atmospheric and oceanic temperatures. The increase in temperatures leads to
global warming. The amount of carbon dioxide found in the atmosphere is
increasing every day. The effects of global warming are devastating as it
causes heating up of the earth. Since human activities are the most causes of
global warming, it can be mitigated by reducing some of the activities which
cause global warming.
