Human Rights & Global Justice

The present world is marked by a number of concerns on matters that can promote human rights and global justice. Though these matters have existed since time immemorial, some have risen recently, especially, due to climate change, economic integration, and intensified globalization. The World leaders are striving towards achieving, equal justice, for everyone, by treating each other fairly and promoting social-economic issues across the borders. Some institutions, for instance, the UN is tasked with the responsibility of identifying the problems associated with global justice, coming up with possible solutions, identifying those who might assist address the identified problems and providing normative considerations through affiliate institutions.

The major concerns that rotate around war and proper use of force are one of the concern that institutions should ensure that rightful framework is followed as was offered by Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, Aristotle and Cicero that conditions for the war to be justified, and conduct within the war have to be followed. If the principle is not followed, they then categorize it as an act of terrorism or perpetrated by insurgent organizations. They also look into what conditions humanitarian and military intervention can be engaged.Global environmental issues and the human behavior that leads into it is another factor that global justice programs are concerned with.  They engage different stakeholders in condemning activities that may lead to the destruction of habitats, extinction of species, destruction of the ozone layer and increment of toxic levels of pollution. They promote discussions which concern our responsibility and response to climate change so as to minimize destruction.Immigration is another thorny issue which is being addressed by human justice bodies that address matters such as; whether nations have a right to close or control their borders to illegal or legal immigrants.
